History
Before the official start in 1997, AllPlant already started working with plants from tissue-culture.
Started at a small scale, now AllPlant has grown to a leading supplier, of young plants of (new) perennials, from tissue-culture.
From our current location in Heerhugowaard where we have all disciplines under one roof we continuously try to be innovative in:
• New plants in co-operation with breeders
• Tissue-Culture production of these plants
• Plugs from tissue culture plants and Unrooted Cuttings
• Marketing and sales of young plants to professional growers |  | New plants
Last years the development garden plants and the perennial industry have developed rapidly.
AllPlant is co-operating with most breeders to produce plants from tissue-culture or produce rooted cuttings to introduce and market the plants to professional growers.
Many new plants still come from plant hunters and plant enthusiasts who find new plants.
Allplant can offer the service to protect the interests of the breeder and produce and introduce the new plant into the marketplace.
Allplant produces also exclusively for breeders or growers on contract basis.
Tissue-culture
Plant tissue-culture is micro propagation of plants under sterile conditions. In horticulture this way of propagating plants is getting more and more important.
Plants can be produced in a relatively short time and therefore be marketed quicker. An extra major advantage is that plants can be made free from diseases and are produced in uniform quality, therefore perfectly suitable for starting material.
The initiation of a new plant in tissue-culture takes place in Heerhugowaard, a small quantity of plants is produced and kept in stock.
Plant tissue-culture is still very labour intensive, therefore after initiation the virus and indexed stock is send to our foreign large scale production laboratories for further propagation.
Finally the tissue-culture plants are shipped, after the last quality check, to our customers or to our weaning facility for further cultivation and to become a rooted plug.
Plants in plugs
Growing and weaning of tissue-culture plants is a specialized culture.
The quality of the plants from tissue-culture is very important for the final quality of the plant.
However, weaning and rooting of plants in plugs after tissue-culture is just as important.
AllPlant has in Heerhugowaard, the facilities, know-how and skilled staff available to wean and root stage 3 tissue culture plants and deliver high quality plants in plugs to the customers.
